Held annually in conjunction with Academic Internal Medicine Week, this meeting focuses on the needs of program administrators. This meeting also includes a luncheon with chief residents and many opportunities to network with colleagues.

The ACGME Outcomes Project created a fundamental shift in the defined program coordinator position from primarily clerical to managerial role. Through the work of the APDIM PA Advisory Council, AAIM developed a residency program manager job description in 2020; the January 2023 AAIM Perspectives details the critical roles to improve recruitment and retention of successful residency managers.
